Low-calorie drinks have steadily gained importance over the last few years, and in light of the recent discussion on overweight and obesity, these drinks are experiencing another surge in growth. In the meantime, there are low-calorie versions of almost every product, and they taste every bit as good as their sugar-sweetened counterparts.

WILD offers its Sweet Up® sweetening system to reduce the calorie content in beverages. Together with the Professorship for Market Analysis of the Agriculture and Nutrition Industry of the Technical University of Munich and the market research institute ASAP, WILD conducted a study that demonstrated that Sweet Up® products truly satisfy. In fact, one third of consumers preferred drinks with Sweet Up® over the classic, sugar-sweetened versions.

Using the Sweet Up® sweetening system from WILD, beverage manufacturers can significantly reduce the calorie content of their products. The composition of the sweetening system is modular and varies depending on the application. A low-calorie soft drink, for example, has a different combination of sweeteners (such as aspartame, acesulfame-k, saccharine, and cyclamate) than a low-calorie still fruit-juice drink. The addition of natural, functional WILD Resolver® flavor extracts fully rounds out the taste of products using Sweet Up®.
