Consumers are increasingly demanding convenience in the form of trouble-free, practical products, and this trend has turned toward foods and beverages that can be easily consumed on the go or at the office. The importance of this convenience to consumers is that they spend little or no time on preparation.

This convenience trend is being met with “food-on-the-go” products such as granola bars, yogurt with cereal, and prepackaged foods in bite-sized, mini-portions, and “ready-to-drink” products are joining the trend with smoothies, iced teas and coffee drinks that are premixed to maintain a consistent quality.
