WILD at the Brau Beviale 2011 - Global trends on show in Nuremberg (09.11.2011)
At the Brau Beviale 2011, WILD will be presenting its latest concepts for international
trends. Right at the forefront will be Coconut Water, the current in-product in the USA. WILD
manufactures innovative, functional soft drinks using the clear liquid of young coconuts. The
ingredients manufacturer is spicing up the European drinks market with new ideas for beer mix
drinks characterized by exotic flavors and full-bodied taste. In the Middle East and Central
Europe, malt-based soft drinks are an ideal substitute for alcoholic drinks, and represent a viable
alternative to classic sweet beverages. Trade fair visitors can find out more about these concepts
and their practical uses at the WILD stand.
Coconut water is the new trend from the USA. The clear potassium-rich liquid originates from
young green coconuts, and is not to be confused with coconut milk which is won from the flesh of
ripe brown coconuts. WILD uses coconut water as a basis for soft drinks, and is focusing on
creative varieties. Many years of experience with natural ingredients are standing the ingredients
manufacturer in good stead, enabling WILD to offer producers natural drink concepts with a high
coconut water content or as near water varieties.
Exotic indulgence with coconut water
In its refresher concept, WILD combines a high portion of coconut water (25
percent) with five percent fruit juice comprising a mixture of citrus and exotic fruits. WILD’s
coconut water refreshers have a natural, healthy and functional image. Along with the new taste
experience, these factors provide manufacturers winning arguments to differentiate their products
from conventional competitor products.
Coconut water is low-calorie, isotonic and functional – attributes that go hand-in-hand with
near waters and sports waters. For these concepts, WILD uses three percent coconut water. Basically
though, the proportions are flexible and can be adapted to different product options. Variations
range from mono-flavor (e.g. pure coconut near waters) to combinations with fruit juices.
Trend sector: beer mix drinks
Beer mix drinks represent a major growth category for breweries in many countries.
Alongside growing popularity for classic shandies, there is a clear trend towards cloudy juice
drinks with a natural image. WILD uses a cloudy citrus basis, e.g. grapefruit, orange or lemon, to
achieve the characteristic appearance and the full-bodied taste of new beer mix drinks. Exotic
wheat beer mixes are also currently en vogue. The latest WILD offering is a mixture of citrus and
ginger; the slightly tart ginger taste harmonizes ideally with the flavor of wheat beer.
Malt drinks lend variety
Brewed lemonades are gaining momentum in the malt-based soft drinks sector. The
slightly tart but not too sweet lemonades primarily appeal to adult consumers. Breweries can also
benefit from the chance to demonstrate their expertise in the non-alcoholic drinks sector. On an
international level, and particularly in the Middle East, products with a distinct malty taste
enjoy considerable popularity. These innovative drinks provide a welcome alternative to classic
soft drinks and alcoholic beer mixes. WILD offers manufacturers a wide range of malt drink concepts
– from pure to flavored with fruit or in combination with juices.
