WILD innovations for carbonates and still drinks - Premium, with pulp or milky-creamy (28.02.2011)
Carbonated soft drinks are the largest volume segment in the Middle East. To give
growth impulses to this highly competitive market, WILD is presenting premium products with fruit
pulp and new flavor options especially for cola drinks. This portfolio includes new ideas for
still drinks as well. For instance, concepts combining milk and juice deliver a high
mouthfeel which has an especial demand regionally.
Dubai, February 28, 2011: Population throughout the Middle East is growing very fast and is
disproportionately young compared to Europe or the United States. Along with the hot climate,
consumption of non-alcoholic beverages is increasing steadily on a high level. “The market of
carbonated soft-drinks is hotly contested. We believe that those manufacturers succeed that
offer premium products with a natural image and new flavorings,” says Jochen Bitzel, Vice President

Fruit pulp adds value
Throughout the Middle East, consumers prefer viscous drinks which provide a high
mouthfeel indulgence and have an intensive flavor profile. WILD is presenting new premium
concepts for carbonated soft drinks at this year's Gulfood to support manufacturers in meeting the

Using citrus juices and fruit pulp provides a distinctive mouthfeel and an exceptionally fruity
flavor that offers a competitive edge over classic citrus carbonates. WILD has further
developed a new concept for cola drinks which is being introduced at Gulfood in order to give new
impetus to the market.
Creamy with milk and juice
Besides carbonated soft drinks, the segment of still drinks is a large volume
segment as well. Manufacturers can distinguish themselves and add value to their products by
combining milk and juice in their products. This provides an especially creamy, high
mouthfeel and new taste experiences. The juice content varies depending on customer
requirements. At the WILD stand, manufacturers can also get an insight in the variety of
flavor options from which they can choose, be it very popular regional flavors, new exotic ones or
superfruits such as pomegranate or cranberry.
